You’re invited to Summit Independent Living’s biggest event of the year

Disability Roots” is a celebration of photographer Tom Olin and his work documenting America’s disability rights movement for 40 years.

His photographs have been featured at museums across the country, including the Smithsonian Institution and the National Civil Rights Museum.

Join us for an exhibition of Olin’s work and learn about the disability rights movement from people who were there.
In lower right, a black and white photograph taken by Tom Olin in June 1990, depicting a man in a wheelchair, his right fist raised in defiance and a sign that read "The Largest Minority" across his legs. The man is Michael Gibson, who was protesting the inaccessibility and poor service of the paratransit system in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
