Activities in and with Summit’s Missoula office are keeping staff busy and involved. Consumers are coming to Summit for services regularly, including winter Skills Trainings that have been going and are about to begin. See the events part of the newsletter or website for details. Staff are also involved in several school activities, and Peer Advocates have been doing outreach activities and attending annual advanced trainings.
With spring coming, other activities and events are being planned and there have been a few staff changes (See page 4). Preparation and planning are underway for another annual ADA community picnic on Tuesday, July 10 at McCormick Park hosted by Summit and community partners. Considering recent federal threats to change that law, it’s always good to recognize the importance of the rights guaranteed by that law. Betsy Ames of Summit’s Self-Direct Personal Assistance Services will retire this spring, so we recognize and appreciate her contributions to the community and wish her well in her future.
