On October 26th, we filed around 100 people with disabilities, friends, families, and supporters into the Hellgate High School gymnasium for a Halloween themed funpalooza.

Thanks to the support of the Missoula community we were able to offer a carnival style party with face painting, face mask making, pumpkin carving, exploding pumpkins, music, massages, Monte the bear, food and fun!  This is part of Summit’s ongoing efforts to provide some fun and creative ways for people to get out and recreate while connecting with others within the disability community.  Thanks to the support of ORI, VSA, Indulge Bakery, Starbucks, James Green and the Isaac M bands, Aurora Massage, HCBS, SpectrUM, Monte at University of Montana, Wheat Montana, Culligan, Albertsons, Norco, Walmart, Rosaurs, Patte Creek Market, Benson’s Food Farm, Missoula County Public Schools, and the Brondum Foundation.  With the help of our community, we will be able to put together another event in the spring of 2010 so start thinking about and planning for a game night with Summit!

These social events are in response to conversations that our consumers and community have had with us about what it is that you need and want.  If you haven’t given us your point of view yet, please call your local Summit office, we would love to hear your thoughts, and don’t forget to be on the lookout for upcoming events in your area.  Each Summit office has information on activities going on in their counties, so please get in contact if you would like more information.
